If you are a fan of the Lake District you will know how busy it gets in the summer, however, not far form there is a place called Eden Valley and the Stag Inn at Dufton. This area is ideal for those who enjoy walking holidays as it is right on the Pennine Way and therefore has beautiful views. If you are travelling with children, then the castle at Appleby, steamboat rides, a bird-of-prey centre and an array of farms are all ideal for the younger ones.
Staying in Devon
The thatched cottages that Devon is known for do not make for cheap holidays , however, Modbury cottage which is out of the way, tucked down a long forest lane and is between Dartmoor and the beaches of Bideford Bay, is still very close to the expensive thatched cottages. The beams, open fireplaces and the crooked floorboards will have you fooled into thinking that you were in fact in an original.
Walks in Wales
Y Felin is a spacious cottage for a couple in the quiet Pembrokeshire village of Moylgrove. This cottage is in an ideal place for long romantic walking holidays in the area. After these walks you can return to the traditional double-fronted stone cottage with patio and that all important wood burner for those cool winter evenings.
