Panic attacks are caused by a release of certain chemicals from the brain when a person is in danger or perceives a threat. The release of brain chemicals is not well understood by scientists who have been working hard to produce an effective cure for major mental disorders.


There are many factors that do play a role in triggering panic attacks. Being aware of your symptoms, you can get effective treatment and proper diagnosis.


Anxiety disorders maybe found in family tree, that is, there is stronger chance of having anxiety if someone in your family does, but this is not totally true because it is not clear whether anxiety is genetic or not.


When panic attacks occur, you certainly try not to face the same situation again and your avoidance may add or intensify the feeling of fear or anxiety which in turn complicate the problem and become worse. The more you avoid situations, the more your life become limited and boring.


Life is full of sad events that affect our mental health. The death of relatives or someone very close to you, a very tragic road accident, or dangerous diseases are examples of causing trauma within the individual. These may lead the affected individual to imagine situations where he was overwhelmed by fear or anxiety.


There are many factors that cause anxiety but knowing the source of this disorder is helpful to find an effective treatment that reduces anxiety and get it under control.


The chemical reactions in the brain are responsible for triggering panic attacks, for this reason, there are medications proved to be effective to reduce anxiety. Paxil, Klonopin and Zoloft are some effective medications prescribed for anxiety disorders.


Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is also a useful method for the treatment of panic disorders. This method needs the administration of a special and licensed professional.


The causes of panic disorders still vague and difficult to understand but you have to recognize your symptoms very well so that you receive effective treatment and do not hesitate to seek help before things get worse.
