Write Love Poems
To write a love poem to your loved one is a very appreciated gift. You don't have to spend all that money on gifts to make you spouse happy, a love poem is just as effective.
Rules about writing? Don't worry about it too much. It doesn't have to rhyme. There's a kind of poetry called Free Verse, that anyone can use. Just let your imagination flow and write from your heart. Some basic corner stones are to: write a nice title for your poem. It can be simple. "Our life together" for example. Don't use complicated language, keep it simple. And, an important factor, be truthful and sincere, speak from your heart. A personal approach helps, try to use your loved ones name. That way it will make a different and be extra ordinary. Read it out aloud when you are working on it, in that way you can really hear how it sounds and what need to be changed.
Read other peoples love poems for inspiration and ideas, but remember: don't copy! The idea is to find your own angle on your relationship. And it will be very embarrassing if you get caught!
Themes you could write about are all the reasons you love your partner. The personal and physical qualities that you love about your partner. For example the eyes, lips, hands, touch, humor, kindness, depth. If you are using any special words with each other, try to use those in your love poems. And then the presentation, of course. Are you going to read it out aloud or give it? Either way, use beautiful stationary, if you are reading it first, you can then give the poem as a gift. If you are giving it to read, put in a love card. Or even better; put it on his or hers pillow with a rose.
