Children, young, and adults are suffering from diabetes and its complications because till now there is no effective cure for diabetes. There are many causes of diabetes but generally speaking obesity and vast amounts of sugar in our diet may contribute to produce diabetes. How do we know that we have diabetes and what are the signs that lead us to worry?
First, we need to know a brief definition of diabetes.
There are two types of diabetes :
- Type 1 diabetes : The pancreas not producing enough insulin.
-Type 2 diabetes : The body’s cells not responding appropriately to insulin.
The two types result in high blood sugar levels due to the body’s inability to make enough insulin to process the glucose in the blood.
Till now the causes of Type 1 diabetes are not known, but it occurs when the pancreas produces little or no insulin. it generally appears during childhood or adolescence.
Type 2 diabetes is the most common type which occurs often with people having obesity or poor diet. This type of diabetes can be controlled by having a healthy diet, injections and tablets, and insulin supplementation.
