Battle Depression, How About A Short Stay In Paris?
Although it isn't a well publicized fact, Paris is the second largest European city; over the years it has become one of the most visited cities in the world. Paris short stays are primarily taken by couples wanting a romantic weekend; the desire to stay longer is strong as there is so much to see and do.
A city famous for its fabulous architecture, good food, wine, street markets and galleries; it has much to offer visitors who adore culture, even if it is only for a long weekend. Like most European cities, Paris is easy to get around; there is an excellent underground system called the Metro which runs regular trains into the city center and is very easy to understand.
You can't miss the Eiffel Tower, mainly because it's over three hundred meters high; it provides stunning views from the top and is visible throughout most of the city. Illuminated in the evening, it is one of the most beautiful sights in the entire city; guided tours add to the thrill as you get to peek into history on how it was constructed.
A walk along the Champs Elysees is essential when you visit Paris; with shops, cafes, and restaurants littered along the wide pavements, it is a ‘must see' for every visitor. This avenue is well worth a visit to see how the wealthy live; it is also where most of the five star hotels are situated but thankfully hotels tend to be cheaper once you move away from the city center.
The world famous Louvre museum is in this city; it houses over three hundred thousand exhibits but not all of them are ever on display at the same time. It would be easy for anyone on a Paris short stay vacation to spend all their time here; some of the world's most important art collections including the infamous Mona Lisa are on display. Paris has always been a magnetic destination for artists; painters like Monet and Picasso spent many years here and a large number of their art works can be seen in Paris today.
The famous 19th century edifice built on Napoleons instructions, the Arc de Triomphe, is also in Paris; to honor his generals (and his troops) he had their names inscribed upon it. Many people do not know that an observatory was included in the design which affords great views of the surrounding area; it stands in the place where the city's main avenues begin including the Champs Elysees.
You will not be at a loss for places to visit whilst in the city; there are plenty of others to keep you occupied but to make the most of your time, use one of the guided tours. A Paris short stay vacation will probably be best suited as just a taster of the city; this article has not even discussed the topic of medieval castles and Gothic churches which the city has in abundance.
