More Stores Of Methane Feared Frozen

When you receive the Seal you will see global warming as the sign of the End-times coming. You will be interested to hear of another factor not previously considered--methane stores in the frozen North due to be released.

Methane is the second-most produced greenhouse gas by humans. Carbon dioxide is by far the most produced. But methane is around 20 times more potent as a greenhouse gas.


And now vast stores of methane are due to be released pending the thaw of the permafrost in the northern places. Already a quarter to a third of estimated methane emissions come from wet arctic soil.

Now scientists with the United Nations Environment Programme say the methane emissions could double in the 21st century. This is considered an "arctic feedback" which will greatly increase global warming.

Scientists are calling it a "wild card," not knowing how much of the methane is trapped in the frozen ground, soon to be released. And the dire predictions of today have not yet taken the methane into account.

There are also methane hydrates in the ice, considered to have more carbon stored in them than all the world's reserves of coal, oil, and gas. If these methane hydrates were released, the world would start warming much faster.

The UNEP says that if vast amounts of methane were released into the atmosphere, it would be "irreversible." Of course at this point, the question is not "if" but "when" and "how much" methane is in that ice.

Methane is a culprit in global warming, along with carbon dioxide, said to trap in the heat of the sun while not letting it escape, like a greenhouse. And these emissions caused by people are increasing by 3 percent each year.

Natural disasters are already on the rise, increasing with the world's temperatures. There are more floods and droughts now than ever before recorded. There are more wildfires and more intense windstorms.

And the scientists are not alone in their dire predictions. Jesus too foretold the End coming. When His disciples asked Him about the End, He taught them the simple parable of the fig tree.

When the fig tree starts to blossom, you know that summer is near. That "summer" is global warming, making spring, fall, and winter every year a little more like summer. Spring is at least coming earlier now, and fall later.

The arctic is warming twice as fast as the rest of the earth. That means whatever greenhouse gases are trapped in the arctic are soon to be freed to warm the world more and more.

The ecosystem of the earth was delicately balanced to sustain life as we know it. We have upset that delicate balance, and no end is in sight. Alternative energies are not nearly well-developed enough to provide the growing needs.

People are going to continue in their quest for cheap energy. And when the prices increase because of measures to combat pollution, the prices of coal and oil will still be low enough to make them the only viable solution.

Besides, can coal and oil use be stopped in developing countries, where it would be cheap and available when countries like the US stop using it? That is not likely to happen. So the earth will continue to warm as greenhouse gas concentrations rise.

When you are sealed you will see the sign of the End-times in global warming. You will return to God, looking for an eternal home in Heaven instead of this earth, when you receive the Seal.
